North to northwesterly winds will increase through today ahead of a strong cold front that will cross the coastal waters on Wednesday. Winds will turn strong to gale-force west to southwesterly after passage of the front, then winds will gradually turn south to southwesterly and ease later in the week as a new high pressure system drifts across the state's south.
