Weather Situation

A slow moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge to the state's east while slowly tracking further eastwards, directing northerly winds along the southern and central parts of the coast. Then, a cold front and its associated trough are forecast to cross the south coast on Wednesday, before heading north and crossing the remainder of the coast on Thursday, with a fresh southerly wind change in their wake. These systems will be followed by a strong high pressure system drifting across the southeast of the continent later this week.
