Bush Walkers Weather Alert

Issued at 3:46 PM EST on Thursday 23 Jul 2026.

Bush walkers are advised that strong westerly winds, cold temperatures and snow as low as 400 metres are expected during Thursday. Snow may fall to around 300 metres in the far south. These hazardous conditions are expected to occur in parts of the Western and Central Plateau forecast districts. The snow level is expected to rise above 1000 metres during Friday morning.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 pm EST Thursday.
