Flood Warning for the Nicholson River

ELEVATED RIVER LEVELS AND FLOODING OCCURRING ALONG THE NICHOLSON, GREGORY AND ALBERT RIVERS

Rainfall over the last week that has resulted in river and creek level rises and flooding, has eased across the Nicholson catchment.

A minor flood peak was observed overnight Sunday along the Gregory River at Gregory Downs, where minor flooding is easing. Along the Nicholson River, a flood peak has been observed at Kingfisher Camp, and river levels remain elevated at Doomadgee. Further downstream, river level rises and areas of flooding are expected to be occurring and are likely to continue along the Albert River at Burketown during the next few days.

Nicholson and Gregory Rivers

Minor flooding is gradually easing along the Gregory River at Gregory Downs. Elevated river levels are expected to be occurring along the Nicholson, Gregory and Albert Rivers.
