Major Flood Warning for the Georgina River and Moderate Flood Warning for Eyre Creek

MAJOR PEAK APPROACHING MARION DOWNS

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BEDOURIE FROM EARLY NEXT WEEK

A major flood peak is approaching Marion Downs along the Georgina River. As this peak travels downstream, moderate flooding may develop along the Eyre Creek at Bedourie from early next week.

Further downstream at Glengyle, minor flooding is expected to continue into early next week, with further rises likely as upstream flows arrive.

Further rainfall is forecast across parts of the upper Georgina catchments over the coming days. This rainfall may result in further river and creek level rises. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

A Flood Watch is current for the Gulf Country and parts of the Cape York Peninsula.

Georgina River to Marion Downs

Major flooding is occurring along the Georgina River at Marion Downs.

Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs

Elevated river levels are expected to be occurring along the Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs, with further rises expected for the next few days.

Eyre Creek

Moderate flooding is possible along Eyre Creek.
