MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT BIRDSVILLE

MINOR FLOODING ESTIMATED TO BE OCCURRING AT WINTON

The Diamantina River at Birdsville is easing slowly following a prolonged moderate flood peak earlier last week. River levels along the lower Diamantina River are expected to remain high for an extended period of time as floodwater continues to move slowly through the catchment.

No significant rainfall has been recorded over the last few days and no significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days.

Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes

Minor flooding is occurring along the Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes. The river level is currently at 3.94 metres, approximately 1.84 metres above the level of the causeway on the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road (2.10 m).

Western River

Minor flooding may be occurring along the Western River.

Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes

Moderate flooding is easing along the Diamantina River at Birdsville. Prolonged major flooding is continuing to ease very slowly along the Diamantina River between Durrie Station and Roseberth.
