Major Flood Warning for the Roper and Waterhouse Rivers

BESWICK BRIDGE LIKELY TO PEAK AROUND MAJOR OVERNIGHT MONDAY INTO TUESDAY
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall associated with Ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle has caused river level rises and flooding across the Waterhouse River and Roper River catchments. Further showers and thunderstorms are possible over the next few days but widespread significant rainfall is not expected.
Moderate flood levels are continuing to rise at Beswick Bridge, with a peak around the major flood level (8.70 m) likely overnight Monday into Tuesday.
The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch remains in place for parts of the Top End.
Waterhouse River
Moderate flooding is rising along the Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge.
Roper River below Elsey Creek
River levels remain elevated throughout the Roper River catchment.
