Australia Weather News

It's that time of year again — the end of daylight saving.

To get you up to speed, here's a quick rundown about what happens where you are and when.

Daylight saving will end tomorrowat 3am AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time).

That means at 3am, your clock will jump backward to2am AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time).

The clocks will moveback by one hour.

Most clocks linked to the internet, such as smartphones, computers and TVs, will automatically adjust to their relevant time zones.

But some clocks, such as the ones on your oven and microwave, will most likely need to be manually adjusted.

In Australia, clocks move forward by one hour in spring for DST in:

  • Australian Capital Territory
  • New South Wales
  • South Australia
  • Tasmania
  • Victoria
  • These states will gain an hour of sleep on April 5 when DST ends and the clocks go back to standard time.

The Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia do not observe daylight saving time.

Daylight saving will return onSunday, October 4, 2026.
