Major Flood Warning for the Fitzroy River Catchment

MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BARALABA
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT YAAMBA FROM OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
NEAR MINOR FLOOD PEAK POSSIBLE AT ROCKHAMPTON FROM EARLY NEXT WEEK
River and creek level peaks have been observed in the Connors and Isaac, Comet and Nogoa, Upper Dawson and Don River catchments. Elevated river levels are expected to continue over the next few days as flows move through the catchment. River levels are rising in the lower Fitzroy River and this is expected to continue during the next week.
Along the Dawson River, major flooding is occurring at Baralaba, with renewed but lower rises possible as upstream flows arrive. Further upstream, minor flooding has eased at Taroom. Minor flooding is occurring at Theodore Weir, with a minor flood peak possible overnight Saturday into Sunday.
Flooding has eased in the Comet and Nogoa Rivers, with these peaks now moving through the Mackenzie River, currently around Bingegang Weir where moderate flooding is occurring. Further river level rises are expected at Tartrus over coming days with minor flooding possible from Sunday.
Upstream flows are slowly moving into the lower Fitzroy River with minor flooding estimated to be occurring at Yaamba where moderate flooding is possible from overnight Saturday into Sunday. River level rises are expected at Rockhampton through the remainder of the weekend and into next week as peaks from multiple upstream catchments continue to arrive.
Dawson River to Theodore
Minor flooding is occurring at Theodore Weir.
Dawson River downstream of Theodore
Major flooding is occurring at Baralaba, Beckers and Knebworth.
Comet River
Flooding has eased along the Comet River.
Nogoa River
Flooding has eased along the Nogoa River.
Mackenzie River
Moderate flooding is occurring at Bedford Weir, Bingegang Weir and Coolmaringa.
Fitzroy River
Minor flooding is occurring at Riverslea.
