A front over western Bass Strait this morning will crossing remaining waters during the day. Winds will then tend northerly and freshen into Monday as a cold front and associated low pressure system cross the Southern Ocean. The front is forecast to cross Bass Strait late Monday into Tuesday before a high pressure system over NSW extends a ridge south over eastern Bass Strait on Wednesday.
