A four-day heatwave that begins on Wednesday will bring the same kind of conditions that saw more than 200 Queenslanders treated for heat stroke and dehydration last week.

Temperatures are predicted to get to 37 degrees Celsius in Brisbane and soar to over 45C in towns like Birdsville in the state's far south-west.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said the high temperatures would stick around until Sunday, when a south-easterly change has been predicted to cool things down.

Paramedic Lara King said the death of a fit and healthy 30-year-old man while dirt bike riding at Beerburrum on the Sunshine Coast on Sunday showed anyone was at risk.

"People need to be really aware that heat can affect especially the elderly and young children, but [also] people with previous medical conditions can really suffer a great deal," she said.

"Also young healthy fit people who don't think they have got any concerns need to be really cautious."

On Friday, paramedics were called to Beerburrum State Forest after Matthew Hall became sick while riding in the hot conditions.

Authorities said the Virgin Australia pilot stopped for a breather about 2:00pm while his friend rode ahead.

But when the friend returned, he found Mr Hall lying on the ground, still conscious and breathing.

The friend called an ambulance and attempted to cool Mr Hall down by pouring water on him, but he died at the scene.

Paramedics attempted CPR but were unable to revive him.

A report will now be prepared for the coroner.

On Instagram, wife Emily Hall said her husband died of dehydration and exhaustion.
