- A large high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge over Bass Strait as a cold front approaches from the southwest. The front is forecast to cross southern Victoria and Bass Strait today, with a southerly airstream then expected across Victorian coastal waters during Monday and Tuesday as the high moves slowly east. The high is forecast to be located near Kangaroo Island by Wednesday night before moving to the southwest of Tasmania during Thursday and extending a ridge over western Bass Strait.
