Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extends across Bass Strait during Monday evening, with northerly winds strengthening in the west as a strong cold front approaches from the Bight. The front is forecast to cross Bass Strait during Tuesday, with a vigorous northwesterly airstream shifting west to southwesterly into the afternoon and evening. Winds will ease on Wednesday as the next high pressure system approaches from the west, with the high extending a ridge across Bass Strait on Thursday and Friday as it moves to the southwest of Tasmania.
