A vigorous trough lies over far southwestern Queensland. The trough will shift slowly eastwards over the southern interior of the state during today. Hot, dry conditions will combine with fresh to strong and gusty northwesterly winds east of the trough to result in Severe to Extreme Fire Dangers over the southern interior east of about Quilpie and south of Blackall and also the southeastern inland today.
